Alumni Spotlight – Owner, Speechless Worldwide
I create transformational experiences for audiences everywhere through my company, Speechless Worldwide. We book professional speakers for events: conferences, association meetings, CEO mastermind groups, employee development, and executive retreats. Rainbow taught me that a good idea or wisdom, shared in the right way at the right time, can literally transform lives. From our Assembly meetings, conversations, and drama, I learned that life happens one gathering at a time. So invest in your gatherings, make them meaningful, whether it’s with one person or 10,000. It’s paid off for me in ways I can’t begin to explain.

Alumni Spotlight – Teacher, Public Speaking, Debate and Communication
Because I had been Worthy Advisor twice before I even graduated high school, I entered college and my first public speaking class was with confidence I would not have had otherwise. I ended up falling head over heels for the study of public speaking and communication. By the time I was 24, I graduated with a Master’s Degree in Communication Studies and have been teaching public speaking, debate, and interpersonal communication classes for the past 5 years. Rainbow helped me find my voice and my passion for helping my students find theirs.

Alumni Spotlight – Wedding Officiant
Had it not been for the endless hours of public speaking, memory work and people skills as well as speech writing techniques I attained in Rainbow, I wouldn’t be able to be a wedding officiant. These skills I learned through Rainbow have helped me to excel in this job in every way. From meeting the couple, planning out and writing the ceremony all the way up into wedding date and performing it, I utilize those skills quite often. Rainbow prepared me for this job in every way. Isn’t it ironic that a Past Grand Love has this job?

Alumni Spotlight – Director of Clinic Operations
In 2019, following the devastation of the Camp Fire, myself and a few other individuals founded a nonprofit medical clinic called Medspire Health. Our clinic was created with the intention of providing completely free medical care to those that were impacted by the fire. Since March 2019, Medspire Health has provided care to over 150 people. I believe that my desire to help others directly came from my time in Rainbow. Rainbow instilled upon me the confidence I needed to believe that this goal was achievable and to not be afraid to work hard for something I believed in.

Alumni Spotlight – Culinary Arts Teacher
Today I am a full time culinary arts teacher and the owner and operator of a food truck. Each time I stand in front of new groups of students and each time I have to learn new names and get to know new faces I am reminded of the time I spent traveling as a representative to my jurisdictions. Each class that I teach I am reminded of my rainbow speech skills. I try really hard to give my students the opportunity to stand before their peers and present because I know how important it is be able to speak in front of a room full of people. As a business owner I use the skills I learned in my local assembly through fundraising and budgeting. I spent many years on my assemblies budget committee and then as treasurer of my assembly. These skills are invaluable to me as a business owner. I work with students and customers on a regular basis and Rainbow has given me the skills I need to be successful at both.

Alumni Spotlight – Social Service Program Assistant
In my current job as a Social Service Program Assistant with the county, I assist families in the community who have fallen on hard times by providing supportive services and resources. I believe Rainbow helped shape my life and led me to this career path because of our focus on community service and helping others. When the opportunity to apply as an Eligibility Worker, I knew this was the right job for me. A leadership opportunity has presented itself and I know that my experience in preparing an agenda, leading a meeting, public speaking and presentation skills, along with learning to plan and execute a training or meeting will help me get the job! Rainbow does help girls prepare for life!

Alumni Spotlight – Hospital Privacy Manager
Rainbow taught me lifelong skills that help me grow professionally every day. In my role as the Privacy Manager for a non-profit cancer research hospital in Southern California, I pull from my experience as a member of Citrus Assembly. Each month, I am able to confidently present to a room full of new employees about our compliance program, I sit on several committees where I interact with leaders of my organization and I put my event planning know-how to use organizing educational or training events for our workforce. Most importantly, Rainbow showed me how to be of service every day and I get to do that for the most vulnerable people in my community through my work.

Alumni Spotlight – Cabaret Performer and Avid Cosplayer
One of my favorite pastimes is as a cabaret performer and avid cosplayer, and every day I draw from my Rainbow experiences to develop my craft. Not only did I learn how to speak eloquently, I gained poise and confidence to engage with my audience. Rainbow also helped me develop the skills to imagine and construct everything from fun costumes to sewing elegant gowns. All of these skills have given me the confidence I now have to get up on stage and sing while wearing costumes I made myself. As an adult, I know that what I learned from Rainbow will be with me my whole life.

Alumni Spotlight – Masters Student
Having the opportunity to grow up around strong, independent, powerful women who always strove to achieve their dreams encouraged me to do the same! I use many lessons that I learned as a girl including public speaking and the ability to put myself in new situations which have led me to make contacts all around the world and is what gave me the opportunity to study in Australia. The skills I gained from being a member shine through every day and I could not be more grateful for all the lessons Rainbow imparted on me.
